Balance / Life / Work

Hello world!

Az első poszt

…There shall, in that time, be rumors of things going astray, erm, and there shall be a great confusion as to where things really are, and nobody will really know where lieth those little things wi– with the sort of raffia work base that has an attachment…

Confusion, chaos, and doing nothing. That is how my story abroad began. Time was passing by, and in between job hunting, traveling, and networking, I found myself doing grocery shopping with my eyes closed, no longer even thinking about collecting the rubbish in advertising bags, drinking ginger shots instead of unicum, and saying merci when I should be saying “danke schön”. Aaand it was already 2020, and I was starting to feel like I was settling into my new life here. I found a job, met new people, warmed up old friendships, and even found time to nurture my relationships at home. Then from one day to another, the virus hit… We had to develop new habits again and settle into a unique situation that who knows how long would last. In the beginning, we became keen farmers, we went running, exercising, and hiking with the enthusiasm of athletes, and for a week or two, we even pretended to be bakers. After a while, however, we realized that we were neither gardeners nor sportsmen nor bakers, and we started to live our old lives – but sometimes still in alternative ways.

For me, it was at this point that I realized that although I enjoy video drinking with my friends, binge-watching series, and home office, something was missing. I was bored. So I started dusting off old ideas that I had previously put off due to lack of time and laziness (one of my teachers at university called me an “Aufschieber” for this), started writing a blog, and grouped my posts into three themes – work, life, balance.
